Wow.
I was literally speechless at this guy, as I browsed for more of his works, and every one of his works were extremely original stories, and had a magnificent settings.
He drew mostly One-Shots, except for a serialization he drew.
Double Arts
A story about a boy and girl, stuck with their hands together and forced to travel together that way.
They came up with a fighting stance that's literally a dance that's literally dancing, and one of the character actually uses a hula hoop as her weapon. It's pretty amazingly effective too
A very detailed and interesting story, and the flow of the story was perfect as well.
Sure, there was a shady bad-guy group and some strong-ass veteran to guide them as well, and the progress of the story was typical, but fuck... Naruto, Bleach and/or Detective Conan all made it beyond 500 chapters with the same typical story progress.
Above all, great art which never ceases to amaze me with every page I read.
However, Shonen Jump ended this manga early at chapt 23 cuz there was low rating for it, WTF?
I wanted to see this story at least to chapt 120, not 23. I don't get how Naruto or Detective Conan can survive so long, when their story sucks compared to this.
Makes me think, however.
Original, and interesting mangas with brilliantly-composed stories with brilliant art doesn't sell.
I've always knew that echi scenes and chicks is what sells in a manga, but i've always told myself that art and story was the true virtue of manga.
WHO gives a damn if the character has a 9 or 15 chicks who fell in love with him? anybody can come up with a cheap story like that.
WHO gives a damn if the chick suddenly strips naked in front of the main char if it was cheap and ugly art? even a kid can draw something like that.
I've always had my mind brimming with ideas of stories to write, so I can draw a manga for myself one day, in the future. I like- mean dozens of them... everyday I come up with new ideas, which i try my best to make it more interesting and original. I even secretly wrote them down in my handy 'lil book.
So yeah, that's right.
Besides drawing, I have this hobby of writing as well.
I don't do it as often as drawing, so I told nobody.
Most of the process was done in my head, and finalized in a piece of paper.
So it came to me that, even if, one day I would be able to draw and masterfully compose a brilliant manga which would surpass OP or Bleach, will there even be people to read it?
I find the manga business hard to understand, even though I kinda understand it abit already.
Edit: of cuz there's guys like Yabuki Kentaro, with his brilliant work of Black Cat, and guys like Kobayashi Jin, with brilliantly complex and interesting story.
Aye, I'm just writing this cuz I was like- extremely, and fcking extremely annoyed that a brilliant manga like Double Arts was terminated early cuz some japanese noobs gave it a low rating.
I was looking forward to 120 chapters, not a 23 chapter story with an ending that screamed OBLITERATED

I always felt that I hadn't achieved what I wanted to achieve. I always felt I could get better. That's the whole incentive.

Be grateful that you can draw for a living;you're living your dream anyway. Not like me;it's like a big sin for me to draw.Teachers are human afterall, can't expect me to forget my dream just like that, right?

To continue is to move. To move is to move on. To move on is one of the greatest achievements a mortal could ever hope to accomplish.
Or, well, attempted to start. Kinda deadpanned when I left. xD
